About Me

I'm an anxious soul trying to find balance by throwing myself into this crazy experience of teaching abroad. I have zero teaching knowledge, relatively no traveling under my belt, and haven't been away from my friends and family for more than a few days.

So here I am in Thailand making a home out of all these new experiences.

I am happy to answer any questions about teaching abroad, and hope to help anyone who is stressed out about doing a teaching program. In hindsight, I wish I had reached out to someone in this program to get a better grasp on what I was diving into.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you living?

Chiang Rai, Thailand - I LOVE the north of Thailand. Very green and a much slower pace up here, Bangkok was a tad overwhelming for me. There is plenty of delicious northern cuisine and rock climbing up here!

Where do you teach?

Princess Chulabhorn's College in Chiang Rai. It is a public boarding school geared towards Science and Math, so these kids are wicked smart. They all live on campus (as do I) and are shockingly well behaved, I am one lucky teacher.

Where did you go to school?

University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, WA - I have a bachelor's in Communication Studies and a minor in Classics, so like I said, I have zero teaching qualifications...and am getting along just fine.

Where are you from?

I was born in Tucson Arizona, then moved to Tacoma Washington in 2008.

How old are you?

24

What camera do you use?

I use a Canon T3i with a 50mm f/1.4 or a 11-16mm f/2.8 lens. I'm hoping to upgrade in the future as I learn more about photography :)
